The following timeline was originally developed in 1986 by Ted Uzzle, Altec's then Director of Market Development, in preparation for Altec Lansing's 50th Anniversary. It was developed with input from Alvis Ward, John Hilliard and other pioneers in the establishment of Altec Lansing Corporation.

The timeline as presented has as its main source a 1995 update that was undertaken by Altec Lansing's then owner, Mark IV audio. It has been further updated to correct a number of minor errors and make it current to 2002.
