BTW, the E's, a 6ohm speaker, sound miles better on the 8ohm taps of my McIntosh MC2300 then they did on the 4ohm one's. MILES.
And they love a lot of juice pumped into them.
I know it's an old thread, but I just acquired a pair of "E" models, and while I haven't taken any measurements, I can tell you that they sound great. Evidently the 2213nD-2 woofer is run full range....
The 4312E uses a 2213Nd-1, not -2, according to it's manual.

Just got my first ever JBL's(at 64 no less!), some 4412's. Got them because I recently acquired a McIntosh MC2300 and didn't want to do something to kill my precious AR3's. So those are now relegated...
