Being unable to find a schematic for the Model 14 crossover, I decided to draw it up myself and simulate it using impedance and spl measurements from the drivers.

I don´t have the 12" Altec...

I bought the speakers without knowing which drivers they used.

They had a nice pair of Altec 418B and a pair of piezo tweeters.

What can I use these bass drivers for, are they suited for hifi ?...

Can anybody help me identify these speakers, and possible what drivers are used in them.
I´m pretty sure it´s a 15" bass driver in there.

I have just got the price for a recone kit from the Danish supplier.

$367 for the kit, and then another $124 if he should fit.

It´s a lot more than I thought...

It´s for home hifi only, that´s why I think the 2235 might be better suited.

Is it really not possible to get genuine JBL recone kits anywhere other than the factory ?

I just found spec. on this forum for the LE15H, it models nearly the same as the 2215H.

I don´t think I´ll spend a recone on them a the moment, as I think the 2225 reconed into a 2235 looks much...

Yep, you´re right, the LE15H has a to plate thickness of about double the 2225H´s.

I can´t find spec. for the LE15H only the LE15A.

I just compared the LE15H and the 2225H, and they look identical in basket and magnet, I was not able to compare the magnet gap as the 2225H still has a cone.

Where do I get genuine JBL parts at a...

So, do both the LE15H, the 2225H and the 2235H have the same basket and magnet, and can all be made into 2235´s ?

Do you know the kit´s from simply speakers...

I have a pair of LE15H in bad shape, rotten surround, crumpled cone, stretched out spider.

I wonder if it´s possible to make a good driver out of these with a reconing, and what to use them...
