Thanks to everyone for their input. I have used all the automotive products mentioned on autos... If my memory servers me correct they are all like a cream, it would be a PIA to and apply and not...
Mine looked like that a few years ago I just use a damp terry cloth rag and very carefully wipe the rubber. They look like this now. I did Google EPDM Cleaner and found the following - My advice is...
I use a pair of Crown's XTi 4002 Series 2 bridged - 2,400W in to 8 Ohms for my SUB18s. More than enough headroom and inexpensive all things considered. I crossover to the SUB18s at 58 Hz.
Thanks Barry
I’ve been looking at getting a second BSS unit a 160 as I have no use for Cobra Net and noticed the different color badges.
I’ve totally lost faith in Harman’s ability to provide...
What is the difference between Soundweb London units that have a "Blue" versus "Red" badge?
My BSS-800 has this badge in "Red" as opposed to "Blue"
This is what I have from somewhere..
I approach the whole audio hobby as an exercise in curiosity, learning and above all else fun. For me there are two sides to the hobby, the DIY aspect of audio (building speakers or amplifiers etc.)...
I resolved the issue this week, there was never a problem with the Lynx Hilo, BSS BLU-800 or the AES protocol it had to do with my computer setup.
I run VMware Workstation and have 3 virtual...
Thanks for the information
I talked with Lynx support and the Hilo puts out 24-bit word length, both analog and digital outputs. They also confirmed that a SPDIF to AES converter is not required....
The only other place I’ve found reference to Sample Rates is on the properties of the BSS BLU-800 unit. Which I’m assuming will change the BSS unit'd main board clocking frequency from 48 to 96 kHz....
Not sure if I understand “enabled the sample rate converter” are these not enabled by default?
You would bypass them on the digital car interface by clicking on the “Bypass Sample Rate Conversion”...
In an effort to reduce the number of analogue/digital conversions in my audio chain I installed a digital input card in my BSS BLU-800. I’ve connected the Lynx Hilo to the BSS unit via AES/EBU (110 Ω...
I use a Crown XTi 4002 for my SUB18s and have used it for 2245s in my DIY 4345s works fine - more than loud enough!
Now if you could only find new Crown amps...
I’m not an engineer of any sort so my thoughts are purely from an amateur speaker builder

2. Look at of all of the JBL Pro cabinets that use a 2269 on average all have an...
I see no problem with raising the 2269 off the floor but I would go higher than 10”.
I don’t see a successful cabinet with a depth of less than 18” (drop the height to 46).
You’ll have to...
Here’s a visual perspective of the cabinet you're propsing vs. the SUB18 – not really much difference in size…
The 2245 is mounted on a 23.5” baffle close to your 22”.
Be careful on the depth of the cabinet - looking at the 2269 specs in the library the depth of the driver is 12.5"
If you're going with a 2269 why not copy the SUB18 box?
It is a simple square box nothing special about it, at about 11.25 cubic feet - if you're considering 9' ...
When doing boxes you must...
The first upgrade you’ll want to do with a 43xx monitor is to bi-amp and once done - you’ll never go back.
Beside the cost of components for the LF circuit can be up to 50% to 65% the cost of a...
I use Bolts Plus, and have been able to find specialty bolts like this for mounting 1500AL-1s

Nice looking cabinets style wise Is the cabinet a single compartment? ....Or is the woofer separate from the upper mid-range / tweeters
When I first heard the M2s I was a little underwhelmed I guess I was expecting a larger SQ differential than my current speakers - read too many internet posts, I suspect.
I spent a couple of...
Are these the same CDs as in the K2 s9900s?
I believe they are as I'm only aware of JBL manufacturing one type of this CD
Just an update to this thread:
I was able to finally get the M2s up and running! many thanks to @Champster for selling me his BSS-BLU-800 and SUB18s. It was a PIA to organize the shipping to north...
I've found the best combination is 1"MDF for the sides, tops and bottoms with Baltic Birch for the front and back baffles. All internal bracing is Baltic Birch as well as any internal mid-bass boxes....
