Hi,
Looking for some temporary surround speakers for my theater and bought a pair of JBL 25-1L to test. Hooked them up in stereo and listened to some music. Had a LSR705i to compare with directly....
Remember that above ~500hz the shape is a result of the loudspeaker design, it's dispersion and the room interactions. If you change things above 500hz you are changing what Mr. Timbers wanted when...
Other experiences with the 2269H builds? I own both SUB18 and 5628 which both use 2269H and in my upcoming build I'm considering doing some new enclosures to limit their physical depth.
First...

Hi all.
Have anyone in here disassembled a pair of JBL LSR705i?
I am using 8 of them in my theater (4 surrounds and 4 in the ceiling) but I am searching for a speaker with less physical depth...
Remember that dynamic capabilities are defined by the peaks _and_ the low level sounds. So fans in the room will reduce the dynamic range of your system significantly.
Factory file is a macro which can be used in any design and configuration.
The macro is password protected but that is not an issue as you should not change the presets of the M2.
One option is of course to have amps in another room.
If that is not possible, then the BLU50 (Or BLU160 with fan mod) is a good option. Then you can use whatever amp you want. BLU50 is limited...
This is an old thread, but hoping it can be made active :)
You mention that with the BLU-USB you can disable SRC anywhere... But on my BLU160 you are forced to select either 48khz or 96khz in the...
I have looked at lot at the SDP-55 due to this. (And this raise another question: The SDP-55 Dante outputs at 48khz. Would it then be best to set the BSS at 48khz to match the digital input and not...
Hi,
I have a home theater using a BSS BLU160 for speaker presets (M2), room EQ, bass management and basically everything except surround decoding. I am preparing my design for adding more speakers...
Measured in to different rooms. I have never had issues measuring the low frequencies in rooms.
My previous subs were the S1S-EX and 4645C. They did not roll-off this early actually. This...
Have you guys measured your subs yet?
I own both SUB18 and 5628 and common for them (even without any HPF) they roll-off VERY steep around 22hz. Like the driver has a built in filter which cuts...
I guess it is a definition. I just know that many home theater people at AVSForum for example, they think 10hz when they say deep bass. And 2269H Will never do that.
I do overall agree with you that the drivers are really good.
But deep bass is not where they excel. I own two SUB18's (non-DIY) and a single 5628. All of them roll-off pretty fast around 22hz....
No, macrotechs are itechs without any DSP.
M2 is, in their marketing material, designed for either itechs or BSS Soundweb with Macrotech. I just started using the latter.
I've owned the M2 speakers for 1½ years and have been driving them with a BSS Soundweb and Crown CTs1200 amplifiers (Class AB+B).
I recently bought 3 Crown MacroTech 5000i to replace the CTs1200...
Hi, I'm looking into a potential build and have two questions:
1. Do you know the depth of the driver? I can see the mounting depth in the specs, but what exactly is this? Is this with or without...
I have never heard about someone doing it. Fan monitoring in itech is part of the built in error reporting and monitoring, so changing a parameter makes it shut down (is what I have heard - not...
Thanks! I was too slow though :(
I am actually using 8 JBL Control1 Pro for surrounds and Atmos speakers at the moment while deciding what to get. They can't quite keep up with the M2s but they are actually surprisingly good for...
Anyone?
Yes, that was the thought.
I don't know if this is a DIY topic or not, but here it goes.
I'm searching for surround speakers in my theater and have a limited depth of roughly 6 inches as they must be hidden behind fabrics. ...
