    Oh yes
    On the horn side, they fill the upper part of the chamber with insulation, From the horn braket up.

    Maybe this is a silly question, but why not order the L-pad board (61262) and horn board (61380) from JBL. They are priced at $6.95 and $15.85 ea. When you add up the time to drill, finish, and paint them, it would be hard to make them for those prices. Even including shipping to Europe.

    Because they are NLA and have been for years. JBL isn't real good at cleaning up their miscellaneous parts lists. Never have been.

    That is typical JBL I guess. They claim that list was revised July 15th, 2003.
    They also have a pretty screwy way of organizing it.

    Can anybody check out, if the both boards are available in USA? In Germany no parts for the 4430 are in stock.

    They are gone and have been gone for years. I think the boards themselves sold out in the mid 90's. The only parts left are the foilcals.

    Guido has already ordered the 61946 for me, last week.

    What is with your 4430? Before you kick them, you could screw out the boards...

    The boards would be easy to make. You just need to find the right rotor bit for the outside edge.

    That would be no problem. A good friend of me has a carpenter's workshop and so he owns all nessesary machines. (All Boxes we had build the last time were developed there...)

    The only thing is, I don`t know the right angle for the slant and I´m a friend of originaly...

    I have to get some grilles made out. I think that they should have the same angles. I will take one of the pads to a carpenter to mach the angles.
    I will let you know what he needed to do the get the right angles.

    The dimensions for the 4430 box are:

    34" high x 21-7/8" wide x 14-11/16" deep

    All panels are 3/4"

    The L-Pad board, 2234 board, and grille are 1" thick.

    that`s a good beginning.

    I have two questions:

    Is there a distance between the L-Pad board and the Horn board?

    On the side view of the Board is a small step with the measure of 1/8". Is these step flush fitted?

    The step is visible from the side, the Horn and L-Pad boards are a full 1" out from the baffle, hence the depth of the enclosure measured from the Horn board would be 14-11/16" + 1" = 15-11/16". You may notice that JBL has the depth as 15-3/4" in their literature so you might as well stick with that. What's a 16th of an inch They have the horn extending out from the baffle as 3-3/16", mine measures 3-1/4", so there's a 16th in the other direction
