    L-166 Cab for a sub

    I had a woofer in need of reconing and no center, so i used one of the 166's as a center and turned the other into a sub. I attached some pics of it. I kept it so i could turn it back into a 166 in the future but for now the port is in the orginal hole for the tweeter and it seems to be working well. The driver is a car audio JBL GTI 1200. From what i have heard its a pro audio woofer or at least based off of one, any truth to that? Check it out and let me know, thanks

    I need the interior dimensions and port diameter and length to look via BB6P. The T/S parameters for 1200GTi are there.

    What'd you do with the original port there?

    First look with assumptions says that 1000 Watts is, uhmmm, fantasy....

    I saved the original port and capped off the hole because the three inch port diameter was enough. cab dimensions are just the standard l-166 not quite sure what they are. I have an NAD 7600 bridged powering it and thats more than enough. the 1000 supposedly is peak power, 600 rms

    That looks like a flanged-end piece of 3" ABS pipe there, so the ID of the narrower section inside is 3"? If so, we can consider it a "flared" duct. What is the total length?

    If you want an accurate determination, you'll have to get out your tape measure, figure out what the interior dimensions are, and post them here.

    OR, I can just make up something bogus, if you like.

    Frame looks like 2206, but the cone don't:

    Yeh the id is 3" length is 5". The frame sure does look like the 2206 h. The cone must be made of different material to suit car audio
