I think the smaller room you have, the more free, low bass reinforcement you get. (Not that I like small rooms) Mine is 22.5' long, 12.5' wide, with a 7' ceiling. I've had really good luck by using separate subs, and putting them in the corners. Right now, I'm using 2-6.5 cu' home brew sono subs. They are in the corners behind me. They are sealed, and on their own go down to 30 Hz flat. When I measure the results with L.M.S. my in room system is flat down to 15 Hz. To define flat, I mean if you draw a line centered through the bumps, and valleys in the response. Many people will say that they boom when you do that. This can be compensated for by turning the volume down, and when you do that, the distortion goes down proportionately. Although it may not be as robust as some of the super systems on these forums, it's the best and cleanest bass that I've ever had.
