". . . as you have no doubt noticed, no one told the 4345 that it can't work correctly so it does anyway."—Greg Timbers
ummmm, yeah. Great eye. The platter says "precision crafted by Garrard for KLH ". Bearings still tight and smooth. I spun the platter by hand and it kept going quite a while.
model is Rc-3 . this is the only thing I can find on it. ==>> http://forums.stevehoffman.tv/thread...l-rc-3.440913/

walked in and friend had this in his cart. Said he "take all the records I collected this morning,
the amp is going to eat all my funds" . I was happy to oblige.
At $.69 a pound, I think it was a bit under $30. I'd have gambled on it too.
Did drag home some nice LP's tho ...
(didn't realize that Ray had a big rectangular hole in his head )

My friend got his Crown home , had his "WTF" moment when
trying to find a compatible power cord. Of course none of the
local dealers has any, but it looks like one is coming via Amazon.

went back yesterday , found no audio or even clocks, but did get a pair of prototype Nike's.
One friend had a SINGLE Rogers LS3/5. Sold it to another shopper. Who donates just one speaker
Regarding the Crown amp: other bud got his power cord. Unit powers up, but has a fault (no code, of course).
He suspects a funny smelling transistor near the back, he he can fix.

Drug home a load of assorted stuff (2e calls "junk") today. Included was this handbill for a 1967 DOORS show at The Whisky A-Go-Go. Cannot find any repros on the web, hoping it is real , it is identical to this one ... ==>> https://www.lofty.com/products/whisk...-byrds-1-wkp9j

Dating from May 1967, this handbill promoted The Doors and The Byrds at the Whisky A Go Go in Hollywood, California. The Byrds cancelled this series of shows, but The Doors shows are legendary. Two handbills were created for this show: the one offered in this lot (which matches the newspaper ads of the day). The other is crudely drawn and features photographs of the bands.

I did find this really nicely built "dust bug"* type record drag cleaner.
was admiring the build quality when I noticed "Thorens" on the end.
Got home and did a Google image search and cannot find another like it.**
*dust bugs are cheap plastic , this has a sliding weight to set in drag force.
**did some searching today, but diff keywords and found an OEM doc on it. I didn't
get the base (my main reason for finding a pic) and will have to fashon something to
work.

14 pounds bungied to the bike. Played for a bit last night , sounds pretty good.
This latest version of this audiophile favorite, the Music Hall CD25.2 CD Player features audiophile touches like a Burr-Brown PCM1738 Digital-To-Analog Converter with 24/192 resolution, a Philips VAM1202/19 transport mechanism with a re-clocked, low jitter signal, and a low-noise toriodal transformer. The player offers digital output (with both Tos-Link and Coaxial connections) which make the CD25.2 the perfect mate for an external DAC.

I opened it up today to blow out crud as I usually do, but it was very clean. Had a sticky drawer (prolly why it was donated) , fixed , and now it's perfect too. Not sure where all the weight comes from ? (thick face plate & transformer ??)
The $10,000 Krell Evolution 505 uses the same Burr-Brown PCM1738 dac

There are also a few ergonomic upgrades, such as a brighter and clearer LCD display, improved remote and slimmer profile. However, some things have not changed, like the well regulated individual power supplies, detachable IEC power cord, dimmable display, massive chassis, thick aluminum face plate and one year manufacturer's warranty.

was finally able to get some time with this yesterday. Figured that putting on something
that I knew well and then looking for differences might reveal if better/worse/same.
Played Beatles "Let it Be" and sure enough, there seemed to be layering that I had been
unaware of. Quite musical , at least through the big a/d/s's
Guess it's a keeper
>>detachable IEC power cord
had no cord, then GW doesn't seem to know how to test, hence salvage.
Oh yeah: talked to a friend who picked up one of those blue metered
ONKYO amps + a Yammy pre-amp down at GW. He complained about the
price (weight x .69 cents/pound) and so they set both for $15.
reported back that all worked fine.

Got an Amazon Echo couple of days ago (another Safari find) , finally set it up today.
Pretty cool, but Alexa says the best R&R album ever made was "Abbey Road"
(everyone knows it's really "HELP!")

I drug home 5 pairs of these yesterday.
They sounded pretty good, checked all pairs. Vinyl is flaking off
the material ear pads, seems to pick off easily and then they are
good to use w/o the vinyl.
Oh yeah, and a cool Sangean radio
