I wonder if the OP listened to them both in the same sitting...
Even if so, individual taste is what it is.
I come back to my 4430s after a few weeks and I'm always surprised
at how well they hold up (you'd think the surprise would wear off).
I could see a poor (relatively) setup of -any- speaker not
comparing well to nicely situated and familiar 4430s, especially
when there's a significant time offset.
That only goes so far though. It's really hard to get past the fact that the transducers are so much better in the 4367 compared to the 4430. I highly doubt that G.T. scratched his head and said "Hmm, let me see how I can eff up this system design using these fantastic transducers so the system performance can't completely exceed the 4430 some 35 years after the fact."Even if so, individual taste is what it is.
