I'm late to this party by several years, but I recommend Crown K1's or K2's. I had access to two K1's, so that's what I'm running. I am bridging them, which results in 1000 watts or so. I've only seen clip lights on them once, and that was me in the early process of tuning my BX63A to get the relation between it and my mains right. The K series do not use fans and allow a person to daisy chain amplifiers like your JBL amp, but I'm using a Y-splitter.There's another recent thread here, I think covering JBL M2's or the like. A member recommended a relatively affordable stereo Crown amp for bass duties. I forget which model it was, but it boasted something like 1000 watts per channel. Trouble is, it has a fan. Although I think it is off at low levels, so by the time it kicks on, you shouldn't hear it.
