    Estate sale find.

I went to an estate sale today, and found this C40 system. It looks OK from the front, it really got my hopes up for something nice, but a closer look revealed both water and smoke damage, along with bad corners and edges just about everywhere. It looks worse in person. It's an 030 system, with D130, N2600, and 075. So this has to be stripped for parts. Too bad, but it was interesting to look it over. And there were no legs to be found.

    I've seen worse!

The cabinet is scrapped now. It had been sitting in water for a while, and the bottom was held on with nails. The evidence that it has been through a house fire is clear, look at the nose of the bullet. That stuff doesn't want to come off, and the back of the woofer is coated with the same stuff. I was thinking that at least I'd salvage some hardwood for some other project, but to my surprise, the entire cabinet is particle board. Not a scrap of real walnut anywhere in it.

Sorry to hear it was so damaged. How are the drivers?

Six ohms for each, but I haven't tried them with audio.
