    Apparently JBL out-sourced these diaphragms. However, they were clear in the fact that JBL supplied them.

    Widget " I was not worried about damaging these until you planted the seed! "

    How could you do that to someone who's mentally ill?

    I bump this 6 years old thread to ask if anyone now knows the origin of these Westlake/JBL 4" and 1.75" Be diaphragms? Some early incarnations of brush wellman truextent diaphragms?

    Yes.

    My understanding is that Brush Wellman approached JBL with the idea of selling their Be diaphragms over the counter and JBL declined. So Brush Wellman came up with the slightly different truextents to make available as aftermarket. Whatever the actual events, in the end it worked out for the best, the truextents are actually affordable.

    Now if we could find a company that could build the cone kits to spec we'd be all set.
