Folks--I've been working on a custom speaker setup and I want to use 2 10-inch JBL drivers.. 2123h/j, or 2012h... on each side. If i used 2 speakers on each side obviously that would cut the impedence in half. If i used h's (8 ohm)... and ran them in series then i would have a 4 ohm load. If i used j's and ran 'em in series it would be an overall 8 ohm load... Why care? Other than it is easier to power a 4 ohm load... Why should i care? I have heard that running the 16 ohm drivers in series (so the overall impedence is 8 ohm) is best. Just curious why that is... Thoughts, theories?
