you'd done it in the right way.....thanks for this.

The registry shows some white "year" spots in this area.

pls send me your em adress to my PM, so I can send you the sheets for this.

PS: can you try to find out from this gentlemen when he bought them?

    Hi Storm,

not easy to say.... there are only 14 pcs in the registry.

first number: 00534 from CA --->1985
last number: 10819 from FL --->1990 (its a LE version)

between there are also numbers like J015-00128 ????

seems that there are about 12,000 pcs

    HP

we need more numbers to be more precise....whats about yours

L112 pair rescued from the ashes.

    L112 pair with 044's and LE5-12's intact.

    73393 (L)
    73998 (R)

Just got in from flea-bay, being partially refinished due to substantial water rings, scratches (undisclosed by seller - arrgghh.) I've got one done and although I blew through one tiny sliver on a top corner while sanding, it's looking good and now also sports a freshly painted baffle.

    Cheers.

    L112 retired forever.

    66275 (L) RETIRED

    previously reported with 85280 (R)

Picked up as part of a pair(?). Retired to the trash. This poor soul was too far gone. It had a vertical crack down one rear edge and when I got further into it, found odd things.

Although the Serial# on this one is old and one might be led to believe JBL used other than particleboard for the cabs early on, I firmly believe the cab was rebuilt at some point. The front baffle and rear appear factory, although the rear pooched out a bit more than I've seen, the rest is a dense fiber (paper) board and was severely compromised, rattled, and the walnut veneer just didn't look right.

To top it off, there was a solid piece of OE pressboard with with proper walnut veneer glued to the inside bottom. VERY strange. I ended up harvesting the OE veneer piece and pitched the rest in the trash. This poor thing needed to be put out of its misery.

    Paragon serial #

On the back of the speaker the badge reads:
    Type C-44 Paragon serial# 41731
I'll get the other numbers when I take it apart for inspection.

    Lancer 99 pair parted out

Lancer 99 pair parted out on ebay

From Lancer 99 cabinets serial number 101560 and 101561

    LE14A serial number 42115 and 42123
    LE20-1 serial number 51136 and 51302
    LX4-1 serial number 11550 and 11502

    woofer listed in ebay auction:
    http://cgi.ebay.com/One-JBL-Lansing-...QQcmdZViewItem

    from auction description:
One only JBL LE14A woofer #42115 from JBL Lancer speaker S/N 101560. The old yellow surround has no cracks and it still flexes (you know how these surrounds are usually long gone by now, or at least dried and stiff to the point where the cone can't move...they nearly always need to be re-surrounded.) This surround has stiffened some but it does move when pushing carefully on the cone and it still allows the woofer to deliver excellent bass. I don't know how stiff this type of surround was originally but this one moves a just a little harder than a typical music instrument speaker. You won't need to replace this surround any time soon but it will be necessary at some point in the future. It sounds fine like it is, I don't think there would be a huge improvement with a new surround now. Otherwise perfect operation, excellent condition, no problems! 7.1 ohm DCR, 15.5 lbs unpacked.

    JBL in Barzilay Cabinets

Here's the serial numbers from the components in my new to me JBL/Barzilay speakers:

    LE20 #18528 and 18516

    LE14A #46804 and 47036

    LX8 #8619 and 8641

These had never been opened since they were first constructed. These will soon be turned into ZilchLab specials with JBL waveguides and BMS compression drivers. So when the LE20's and LX8's show up on eBay they don't need to be reposted.

    Registry

    Hi englissa,

many thanks for your Paragon numbers.
Is it also possible to look for the wooden punched numbers in the backside of the top plate. Theay are from the wood workers to pair the cabinet parts.

    regards

    HP

PS: please take again a look for your number....is it possible that it is no 41000 ? cause the 4100 doesn't fit into the numbers row of the according driver numbers.
If you want the Paragons list, send me your mail adress by PM.

Hofmannhp I didn't add the last zero paragon serial no. 41000. If you could explain with a little more detail about where the cabinetmakers left their marks I will look for them. sorry for the typo as my typing has much to be desired as does my spelling englissa

    Hi englissa,

no problem with your spelling....:-) thanks for your fast response.

the punched numbers are near where the two cabinet parts meet, in the top plate's backside. You can only see them from the rear side (or maybe with a little mirror).
Do you also have the numbers of the crossovers N500 (or LX5) and N7000?

    again me,

these numbers need to be the same on both cabinet parts as also the front curved reflector panel (backside) and the front legs.
I guess they are between 390 and 410.
