    Older JBLs sought after? JBLJ350A

Are these old loudspeakers sought after for use or for parts?

    The J350 is one of four loudspeakers from the series J216 - J320 - J325 - J350

    J216 - 6,25" woofer - two way
    J320 - 8" woofer - three way
    J325 - 10" woofer - three way
    J350 - 10" woofer and 10" passive radiator.

The cabinet is black, the side panel are plasik veneer in oak imitation, the price 1985 was resonable, the sound o.k. with a small bass.

I like these speakers, although they are a cheap series

The woofer is 310G-3, the midrange is 305G-3, and the tweeter is A012. I don't have a number for the passive, but the other three are still in the parts system.
    Out.

All these drivers are the cheap stamped-metal versions. They'll still sound better than anything you could buy in a store for the same money, (maybe sell used for $50/pair these days...).

Hi Curious and welcome to the site.

When talking speakers like JBL and Altec the term "Older" goes a long ways back. 1960s and 1970s are considered the good old days here and even farther back by some collectors.
When you get into the 1980s and newer most companies found it hard to continue the game of "out doing" the competition and sunk into manufacturing mostly junk in many of our opinions.
This is not to say companies like JBL & Altec don't still make high quality speakers but the inflated prices of today make them nearly untouchable to most.
I don't follow the new gear of today because I have alot more fun bringing back to life the great gear from the "Stereo Wars" era of the 1970s.

JBL & ALtec both got into making automobile and computer components and not putting near as much effort into high end audio gear.

Consumers got into the "throw away" attitude and simply buy new instead of keeping the old working. I think it is safe to say the speakers you asked about are an integral part of the new attitude and designed cheaper to sound quite good but be tossed out when used up because it is cheaper to replace rather then to repair.

Hope this gives you a better understanding.

    Gary
