Hello I'm Don from Regina, SK. I am late to the JBL scene as my wallet would not permit ownership in my youth but I have recently come to appreciate ownership of some fine JBL products.
Today I picked up some sort of JBL bastardized speakers to add to my collection...
They each have a 075 tweeter, D130 "woofer" (more of a full range no?) and a N2400 crossover.
Sadly one of the D130's is not very happy at all, check out the YouTube link below the photo...

So now I'm thinking I should send out the two D130's for a recone, chances are if one is blown the other was abused as well, so who does the best recones on JBL in Canada better if they are close to Saskatchewan but that's probably not likely.
Also has anyone seen a JBL speaker like this before? Looks sort of DIY to me which leads to my thread title, did JBL sell these components as a kit to budding speaker builders? A quick look on Google shows these drivers and crossover in many different DIY looking cabinets.
i have removed the components from these poorly made cabinets with the intention of installing them into a cabinet of my own design. I will probably install new components in the crossovers and upgrade the wiring, is the N2400 an ideal crossover for these drivers or can some improvements be had by changing the crossover frequencies?
I appreciate any and all comments and insights you may have, thank you for your consideration.
Thanks
Don
