This is the dbmeter that I have
I need to try to check this but, the 2446j driver is 100w at 500hz , 150w at 1000 hz
if the hafler amplifier is 100w at 8 ohm, is like 50w at 16ohm, porbably is not enough ro handle the driver plus passive crossover plus 20w tweeter ?
An SPL Meter will tell you how loud the loudest sound is not the overall level of the passband in question. The most cost effective way to get useful level information about the passband would be an RTA app for a smart phone. Not a substitute for real measurement software but much more useful than an SPL meter.
Think of the low and high level controls kind of tone controls, the level control on the 3105 for the level of the extra shimmer from tweeter.
Start the with the low high levels on the crossover turned all the way down, the input level on the crossover
at straight up at 0db, turn the BGW amp levels up all the way, start playing some music with the preamp turned up to about 40%, slowly turn up the low levels till you get the low end level up to what you want and then bring up the high levels till it sounds balanced using the music you listen to.
As mentioned you most likely will not need much level driving the 2446 for home living room use.
Do you have any other EQ in the system other the bass and treble controls on the preamp?
I actually have a DH110 preamp and a DH200 power amp for my home stereo.
Many years ago I bought the DH200 new as a kit and used it to run 2402 bullet tweeters in a sound system.
