My last full day in Japan was spent with Mori Shima as my guide. Mori is a contributing author to Stereo Sound magazine and acted as translator for the article written by Steve Schell and I for Stereo Sound's JBL 60th anniversary book. Mori initially took me to the Asakusa district. This is the one district in Tokyo that preserves a sense of the old city. There is a huge indoor market in the district as illustrated in the two photos immediately below. At the end of this market is one of the few pagodas in Tokyo shown in the fourth photo. The heart of the district is a Buddhist temple called Sensoji for which the entrance can be seen in the 5th photo.
