    Me150hs

    Giskard,
I did a search for the ME150HSand it seems that you once posted the ThieleSmall Parameters and then deleted it again.

Why you always do that? Is there so much problems with copyrights to expect?

Anyway, could you please post again or PM me?

    Thanks

    Wow, Look at this response

    I did not expect this

Red is ME150HS in 4343 Cabinet with original X-Over
Blue is 2235H/2231A in 4343 Cabinet with original X-Over

Would there be any sense to try a ME150HS instead of 2235H?

    Is it the superior Transducer?

Not much is written about it.

Wouldn't the 2235 put out more than the 2231 at 20Hz?, at least according to JBL they do.

    "I did not expect this"

What enclosure size and tuning frequency are you using?
5.6 cubic feet and two 4.125" ID ports x 8.25" ducts for an Fb of ~ 32 Hz right?

What is the DCR of that stock LF inductor or do you have a stock one?

"Would there be any sense to try a ME150HS instead of 2235H?"

If you have them then try them

    How you know?

I use the original 4343 network except the 2012 modification

    I just fiddle around
I think they are hard to get.

I can measure all DCRs of 4343 network as soon as I'm ready to take them out again.

I had them out for the 2012 mod. and bypassed the 2405 section right then and guess what...
I did not measure the DCR of the coils to help everyone here

    ME150H

    Hi Giskard,

thanks for providing more detailed parameters for the ME150H than in your reply from 7-23-2003.

However, there are some parameters that I don't know, namely "Rms = 5.708 mohms" and "Pe = ?". Would you explain their significance?

And at which frequency is Z measured?

    ME150H motor/basket ID help...

What is the core of the ME150H?
    I'm guessing it's the 2227 / 2242 motor...
I'm hoping it's the 2227 basket, as I have 3 2227H that need to be reconed

1audiohack once showed me a 15 in high-end JBL woofer that looked very similar, but I don't remember what it was...
I had just visited another LHS member and seeing his ME150H woofers, but I can't remember which was which.
I recall that one of the woofers had an odd vent space through the side of the frame between the spider mounting pad
and the magnet mounting flange that was unique to the other 15" frames with the huge spokes, a la 18" frame.

Can someone post relevant pictures identifying the ME150H to this thread, especially a side view showing the thickness
of the magnet top plate and the cast shspe of the basket?

Yes, same ME150H uses the same frame as the 2227. If you look in the for sale thread, Cooky is selling a pair of 2227's reconed as ME150H's. Guido has also posted on doing this in the past. I do not know the availability of recone kits, however.
That the internet contains a blog documenting your life does not constitute proof that your existence is valid. Sorry.

I saw the poss about Guido's reconing 2227 into ME150H

What frames am I thinking of that I've seen with the side vents near the magnet and under the spider?

The frame ( that was similar looking to the 2227 but with the foamed vents under the spider area ) belonged to the sub1500.

BTW, the 2227 cannot be reconed into a sub1500 due to a bunch of mechanical differences ( > I'm pretty sure Giskard laid all this out many years back ).
