FYI. The cones was removed from a pair of JBL 2235H
OK so it is a genuine JBL. Thanks Mr. Widget
Hello, Some years ago I got a job of re-coning a pair of 2235H. When I received the speakars I thought they where pretty nice but the foam surround looked bad and the owner wanted to re-cone them....
Thanks srm51555.
Finally they have been finished. It was a hell of a job to lift them from the floor. But my wife is very strong person :D
Unfortunately, I havnt yet listen to them, my amp...
Im getting close. My wife and I manage to move them in to the house from the garage today :p
Amazing
OK, Thanks Pos. :)
Hi Pos,
I have tried to do the setting same as what you have done. But my DCX was different from yours, I guess. I didnt manage to set al EQs. I have skipped the 196 and the 254 Hz in LF part...

If you have bad connections to the cross over you should have heard that in all drivers, not only in the tweeter I guess.
If swapping the speaker cable you also could find out that the issue really...
I have built mine using 1" Baltic Birch plywood. I used MDF as bracing. The curved baffle and the angel on the edges are there for one reason: acoustic :D
Maybe Pos know more about that? :)
No its not. This cd is for the VTX-seris what I understand. You could find the original M2 cd driver here:

But I dont know...
Well, regarding the force, e.g. to press the surround against the cone, yes you need to do that if using the same white glue as in the instruction thread. You apply glue both to the surround and the...
Well, I checked and I manage to lift it out of the cardboard box. :crying: It was easier to lift it with the handles than without the handles. It felt more balanced :o:
Have you seen this thread:

Wow, what a nice build
And I really like those corners too........... :p
Rob is right. Also those drivers have the underhung voice coil and the ± Xmax is very small. :o:
The threads are UNC, 1/4" x 20 treads per inch. :)
Look at that :D
Thanks all of you for the valuable hint. Yes, I can confirm that this is the case. I have checked the thread is 1/4" x 20 as mention here. Fantastic, mounting problem solved. :p
Wow, is that true? Any idea what threads they have, 1/4" ?
Welcome to the LH forum "C6Z06" :)
I dont agree to that statement.
If for example looking at the JBL TS specs for the 2215A and B, 8 and 16 ohms BL is the same for both models. And thats logic. A 16 ohms speaker sees only half of the...
Thank you Mr Widget for those words :)
Now, I was thinking on how to mount the 1501 speaker. Its a heavy weight one and havnt figured out how to drop it in place.
Its approx 10-12 kg heavier...
